November 2, 2009
Happy November!
I can’t believe it is November already!  Boy, time flies!  Keep a look out for your child’s report card on Wednesday.  You get to keep the actual report card, but need to sign the envelope and return it.  If you’d like to bring it to conferences that would be fine.  Conferences are Thursday night from 5-8:30 and Friday from 9-12 and 1-3.  No school Tuesday or Friday.
The class took part in last Thursday’s mass and the children, Peyton, Ryan, Anna, Vincent, Maggie, Aidan, and Sarah, all did a great job!  Our next class mass is March 25th.
Your child has already taken home his/her line for the play.  Your child may be saying his/her line with another child--this makes it possible for all children to take part.  Line memorization is a must!  I believe we have all the costumes, but if we need something from you I will let you know.  The date for the play is  Monday, December 21st--1:30 school performance and a 7:00 pm  parent/family performance.  More information will be sent home at a later date.
We will begin reading Where Do Frogs Come From? this week and continue it until Tuesday, November 10th. This means that our tests will be on Tuesday, Nov. 10th.    The vocabulary words are:  eat, from, gone, grows, or, two.  The spelling words are:  sing, sang, hang, rang, ring, bring, bus, must, your, when--bonus words:  polliwog, tadpole The sentences are:  The bus must bring your ring.  He sang when the bell rang.
In Math, we will continue to practice subtraction.  The children seem to be catching on to the concept of counting back, although we still need lots of practice.
In Science we will finish learning about Habitats this week.  The projects are due on Thursday, November 5th, not Friday Nov. 6th.  Sorry about that mix-up.  I did get one project already and it looks AWESOME!!!  I can’t wait to see all of them!
In Religion, we will be learning that Jesus had many followers.  We will also be talking about the Lord’s prayer and what it means.
I look forward to speaking with you all this week!
    Have a good week!
    Lynn Roberto
