If you did not purchase the second grade supply kit at the end of the year, please only buy the items listed below. There will be a fee of $8.00 for items I purchase over the summer. I like to have all the folders, scissors, crayons, and glue ready on the first day of school so we can hit the ground running!! Thank you for your understanding.
Items needed:
2 rolls of clear contact paper
3 boxes of tissues
1 ream of white copy paper
Your child will be bringing home his or her books and workbooks to be covered, so please keep the contact paper at home. The tissues and copy paper need to be sent to school on the first day. Also, every second grader is required to pay $2.00 for copy books that are purchased by the school. You can send that too...or wait if you like. I know the first day is a crazy one.
If you have any questions about supplies…please don’t hesitate to email me. I check my email once a day…even over the summer….I know, I really need to get a hobby.
Remember to add your name to my notify list so you will know when my page is updated. I don’t update often over the summer but I do once a week once school starts.
Remind your child to work on their summer packet. This is the first “project” grade your child will have. This packet is due on Thursday of the first week.
I will be sending your child a letter sometime in August to remind him or her about their summer packet. Included with this letter will be a form for you to complete. This form will include emergency contact numbers, cell phone numbers, email addresses, allergies. You may include any information that you feel would be beneficial for me to know. Please send this paper back on the first day of school.
I want to make your child’s transition to second grade easy and enjoyable. As a parent, I am well aware of what an impact a teacher has on children. I am here to make your child’s second grade year a positive and upbeat learning experience. I look forward to working together with you and helping your child achieve his or her greatest potential.
