Here we are in the last inning of second grade. Today your child brought home in their green home folder. It is a schedule of our last week of school. Please put this somewhere where you can refer to it for the rest of the week. In case you use schoolnotes as your source of reference, like I do for my own children, I'll put the schedule here also.
Monday - We had our awards ceremony this morning. Congratulations to Braxton Kane and Wisler McCormick from our class for perfect attendance this year. That is quite an accomplishment. The skating party that was scheduled for tonight has been cancelled.
Tuesday - The children may bring board games to school. They should wear their regular uniform.
8th grade graduation at 7:00PM in the church.
Wednesday - School picnic at Little Valley beginning at 11:15. We will be outside for most of the day. Anyone who needs sunblock should apply it before coming to school. The children may dress out of uniform. They should dress in clothing appropriate for playing outdoors, this includes appropriate footwear. They may bring board games for the morning.
Thursday - Cleaning day, the children should wear their Gym uniforms. We would appreciate old rags for cleaning that can be tossed afterward. We would also appreciate any buckets that we may borrow for cleaning which will be returned home that same day. The children may bring board games to school. (Raindate for school picnic).
Friday - School mass at 8:30, second grade is in charge of the mass. We will be singing our First Communion song at the end of mass. All are welcome to attend the mass. The children should wear their regular uniform. Step-up day will follow the mass, this is when the children step-up to meet their 3rd grade teachers. Dismissal will be at 12:00 noon. CD buses will not be running at dismissal.
* The children should bring their bookbags to school each day. We will be sending things home each day.
Thank you to everyone for a very successful and enjoyable school year. It was a very busy year, but a fun one as well. We got to see these little ones grow in so many ways. It was especially rewarding for me to be a part of their preparation for the sacraments. Thank you to everyone for your continued support throughout the school year. I want to wish everyone a very relaxing, safe, and fun summer!

P.S. Thank you to the parents who chaperoned our field trip to the Whitaker Center last week. Thank you Mrs. Keller, Mr. Majka, Mrs. Rettinger, and Mr. Vargo. We couldn't have done it without you. The children had a great day!
