We had a wonderful first week. The children were excited to come to school, learn new routines and, of course, meet their new friends. Last week was easy, however, because it was short week. The coming week will be harder for the children as they adjust to full days. It will also be very warm.
I received your transportation sheets. Thank you. Please remember that, if your child is going home a different way, you will need to send me a note.
Reminders:
1. Please return blue Take-Home Folders every day. Put all notes and other information in the folder. I will check the folders every day.
2. Please send a snack every day. Please put snacks in bookbags in a spot where they are easy to find. The children do not need drinks for snack time. We will use our water fountain. When it is warm, like this coming week will be, the children may bring a water bottle to class.
3. Do not forget to label lunch boxes and all other items sent to school.
This week in class:
Reading
We will review the letters of the alphabet - A to Z. We will begin Project Read and will practice printing letters.
Math
We will work on sorting and classifying like objects such as shapes, colors and sizes.
Religion
We will learn that Jesus welcomes us and loves us through each other. We will attend Mass on Friday.
Science/Social Studies
The theme for the coming week will be The Ocean.
Other
We will have a fire drill this week. Specials this week are: Tuesday-Gym, Wednesday-Art & Thursday-Music. We will have show-n-tell on Friday.
