In the classrooms, Grade 1 is working on a project with the 4th grade about the computer. Grade 2 is working on an animal project using Power Point. Grade 3 is working on typing skills and doing an amazing job at it!!! Grade 4 is working on a web quest regarding animals and their habitate. Grades 5 - 6 are working on a Wordle project. Grades 7 and 8 are working on a Public Speaking project which crosses over to Lang Arts also and involved Power Point.
I hope your children continue to work with keyboarding skills (not just by Instant Messaging) if you don't have Keyboard Skills software, it will be an investment that will make a difference in their academic career!
It would be a great idea to purchase a jump drive or flash drive for your upper floor students. It will make saving computer projects so easy for working on projects at school and at home. Check the Sunday paper, there are always some listed in Office Max, Staples, etc with a major rebate.
Thank you all for all your cooperation, the ink cartridges and phones you sent in - you are appreciated!
Mrs. Ciccocioppi

***** Thank you to all who have sent in used ink cartridges, we were able to trade points saved for a new computer for the school office and 2 digital cameras along with a new large scale printer and several classroom printers, not to mention ink cartridges for the teachers' use. Don't forget to keep saving Box Tops and empty ink cartridges over the summer. Encourage your office or business to become a partner with us to recycle cartridges. Contact Mrs. Ciccocioppi for details. Thank you to all who participate.
Remember to use Anti-Virus software on your computers at home and keep it up-dated!!! Check the Microsoft web site for patches to avoid some of the more recent viruses and worms. Your Internet provider may be offering security software at no additional charge with your membership. I know that Comcast has an excellant package of security software to protect your computer and it is FREE!
Thanks to Comcast for providing Internet free to our school.
