Thursday(4/2)-We will be discussing Viruses and Bacteria in class today.  I have moved our Chapter 2 Vocabulary Quiz until Monday!

Friday(4/3)-We will prep for our Chapter 2 Vocabulary Quiz today!  Homework due today:Chapter 2 Review Packet.

Monday-No School

Tuesday(4/14) Today we will be in the computer lab working on our Viral Disease pamphlet.

Wednesday(4/15) Today we will be in the computer lab working on our Viral Disease pamphlet.

Thursday(4/16) Today we will be in the computer lab working on our Viral Disease pamphlet. This project will be due tomorrow-Friday.

Friday(4/17)-Today the viral disease project is due!***I have extended the due date until Monday-we had a bit of a computer freeze up where the students were not able to finish their projects.******  We will also start on Chapter 3 Vocabulary and begin Section 3-1.

Week of 4/20 -4/24

Monday (4/20)-Viral Disease Projects are due today!  I will also be sharing updated grades with each child.  **The chapter 2 Test scores were not as strong as I expected so some students will need to work a bit harder the 4th marking period-please do not give up-the marking period and year will soon be over!

Tuesday(4/21)-Chapter 3 Vocabulary list is due today! Start on section 3-1 Notes.

Wednesday(4/22)-Discuss the three kinds of protists!

Thursday(4/23)-Homework due today-Chapter 3  Protist drawings-**There are three!!!; All assignments-draw, label, color, and list a function for each part!!!

Friday(4/24)-Section 3-1 Quiz.  Students will need to match examples of protists to the type of protist they are.  For example:Are they animal-like, plant-like, of fungus-like?  Another part of the quiz will matching the function with the correct part of the protist cells.  Students completed this homework assignment for Thursday.

Monday(4/27)Today we will discuss section 3-2 Algae.  I will also show a short video showing a variety of Algae.

Tuesday(4/28)Homework due today:Section 3-3 Mushroom drawing.  We will cover section 3-3 today in class.
* I have a computer training until 11:30 so a substitute will be here for the morning! Remember your behavior!

Wednesday(4/29)Homework due today: Chapter 3 Review Packet.  Finish chapter 3 and practice our Vocabulary words for Thursday.

Thursday(4/30)Homework due today:Chapter 3 Study Guide.  Also today, Chapter 3 Vocabulary  Quiz.  We will laso set up our Bread mold experiment.

Friday (5/1)-Welcome to May!
Today, we will have our Chapter 3 TEST!  Students can earn five additional points on their test by completing to 20 Q's &  A's.
We will also check our Bread Mold.

Week of May 4- May 8
*Sorry about the delay with my update-Our computer server has been a bit uncooperative!

Monday(5/4):
Homework due today:Chapter 4 Vocabulary List.  We will check our Bread Mold progress.  I will also pass out two review sheets for chapter 4.  We will just be touching on this chapter.  A formal test will not be given.

Tuesday(5/5):We will check our bread mold.  During class time we will watch a short video on seeds and the life cycle of plants.
**Only morning classes will meet- we have the 7th grade health fair workshops this afternoon.  No Classes for 5th, 6th, and 7th periods.

Wednesday(5/6): We will check our bread mold.(We have quite a bit already!)  Homework due today:the Photosynthesis drawing.  *I am also hoping to pass out progress reports today!  If not today expect them on Thursday!

Thursday(5/7):We will check our bread mold experiment. Homework due today:Chapter 4 Review Sheets.  This will be an overview of the chapter.  Students will definitely need their textbooks for this.

Friday(5/8): Progress reports need to be returned as soon as possible.

Week of May 11 - 15

Monday(5/11):Work on Section 5-1 and Section 5-2.

Tuesday(5/12): Chapter 5 Vocab list is due. Section 5-1 & 5-2 Quiz.

Wednesday(5/13):Homework due: Seed Drawing

Thursday(5/14):Homework due: Root, Stem and Leaf Drawings.
*Band Concert tonight!

Friday(5/15):Homework due today: Flower Drawing.

Week of  May 18 - May 22
Monday(5/18): Homework due: Chapter 5 Study Guide.  Chapter 5 TEST today!**BONUS-+5 Extra credit points for 20 Q's & A's.  Also a 12 seed collection can also be tuned in today for +5 points on their test grades!
Total possible points=10!!!!!!
We will turn in books and switch to our last book on cells and genetics!

Tuesday(5/19) I will be assigning a Cell Bonus Project if anyone is interested.  Details will be presented today during class!  Bonus project is worth 10 points on the final exam(June 3, 2009).  This project must be turned in by Wednesday, May 27th!!!  Today in class, all students will be told their current Science average.  Any student who is currently receiving a "D" or "F" will receive a progress report to be signed and returned!

Wednesday(5/20)Homework due: Chapter 1 Vocabulary List.

Thursday(5/21)Cover Section 1-3 & 1-4.

Friday(5/22)Discuss Osmosis, Active transport, Passive transport, and Diffusion.

Tuesday(5/26)

Wednesday(5/27)I passed out Final Exam Reviews and past notebooks!

Thursday(5/28)Notebooks are due!  Students will also receive their other notebooks back from the first three marking periods to prepare for their Final exam.

Friday(5/29) Field trip to Vietnam Memorial Wall.

Monday(6/1)-Honor's Trip.  We will be looking up Genetic Disorders in the computer room.

Tuesday(6/2)-Final Exam Review

Friday(6/5)-Microscope Work
