*****ALL 7th graders entering 8th grade MUST Buy
"The Number Devil" by, Hans Magnus Enzensberger. I will be doing ON-LINE work with the students during the summer so please make sure your computers are ready to get a workout!!! The book is available at Borders and Barns & Nobel for around $20.
****I will be doing ON-LINE activities with our text publisher. All students are encouraged to work with me and go over basic skills during the summer. I will be checking my mail everyday so if anyone wants to jump on board just send me an e-mail and I will put you on my mail list for work and assignments. The students will not be graded on this work, however there are a few skills I would like them to keep up on for September. All 7th & 8th graders should know their integer rules (see below) as well as squares and square roots from 2 to 20.(see below) Any Questions??? Comments??? or Concerns??? just e-mail me!
****8th Grade Graduation Activities!!!!!!!!
Tuesday 6/10 Breakfast given for the 8th grade and their parents by the 7th grade and their parents is in Horner Hall@ St. Mary's at 8am.
Wednesday 6/11 Graduation @ St. Josaphat's Church @ 5:30pm. Parking on Cotton and Silverwood Streets as well as the Court Yard off Grape Street.
Wednesday 6/11 Graduation Dinner @ St. Josaphat's Church Hall after mass. Any family who has not paid for this dinner please contact Mrs. Schowerer for further instructions. This is not a Dinner that is included in the Graduation Fee. You are not required to attend. You must pay separately for this event.
To date, our approximate expenses are as follows:
DJ 275
Food 500
Decorations 300
Gift to School 200 (not sure what it will be as of yet)
Gift to Grads 900 (also not sure, but figuring @16 per grad)
This comes to $2175.00. It is my understanding that $20 of our graduation fee is to be used for expenses. That comes to $1080.00. Plus $200, from a donation to the class, equals $1280.00. We are short about $900.00. That's where the $20 per family comes in.
