Welcome to 2K. A wonderful and fun place to learn new skills and make new friends!
Everyone is adjusting so nicely in 2K. I really enjoyed meeting everyone!
SNACKS- For years I have only allowed healthy snacks in my room. This year the children will be allowed to bring in ONLY fruit, veggies and water. Other snacks will have to be saved for lunch. I find that they are more focused and have more energy with healthy snacks. Thank you.
We started the year with a focus on Immigration. We will research our families and share all about our wonderful traditions in the weeks to come.
We started our math focus by looking at our number line. We will head into lessons on coin values, money values, place values and even number grid patterns. Math will be filled with games and lots of fun group activities.
Science has us starting with experiments that look at plants and soil. If you are able to bring in any clippings that would be great.
Reader's workshop started our first week. LOTS of wonderful books are in the room and I know you are all reading one that is just right for you.
Writing, writing writing..... We have started writing daily and learning about good beginnings and letter writing. I have a great big basket filled with colored pencils so we can get started on editing and revising. Sharing our pieces is so much fun.
Keefer is very excited about coming into 2K soon!!!
