In reading this week we will be reviewing the stories in our Friendship unit for our unit test on Monday, October 13th. The students will have notes on these stories in their reading notebooks. A study guide is being sent home today.
This week in writing we will continue to focus on the writing trait of ideas. We will be learning new ways to add effective endings to our personal narratives. The students will also be revising and editing this week.
Last week in science we discovered that marble and limestone both contained calcite. We also did another investigation called Take it for Granite and discovered that granite contains mica, hornblende, feldspar, and quartz. This week in science we will be learning about metamorphic, sedimentary and igneous rocks. We will also be having our rock show on Thursday!
Our homeroom mom this year will be Jen Taylor. A flyer went home last week in the Friday Folders about classroom parties for this year. If you have any questions or would like to help please email mama_bluehen@yahoo.com
