**The end of the marking period is quickly approaching!!!

**Scrip forms were sent home in Friday Folders today.

**A permission slip for the "Door of Hope" program was sent home with the 7th and 8th graders in the Friday Folder. It is imperative that the permission slip be returned to school by Monday, November 23rd...no later!!!

**TO MY 8TH GRADERS...BECAUSE OF THE SCHEDULED ASSEMBLY ON TUESDAY, 11/24/09, YOUR POETRY MEMORIZATION HAS TO BE MOVED TO DECEMBER 1ST. YEAH!!!!

Remember...Any day is a good day for a quiz!!!

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE STUDENTS BE PREPARED FOR CLASS AT ALL TIMES. MANY ARE STILL FORGETTING HOMEWORK AND NOT BRINGING ALL THE NECESSARY MATERIALS TO CLASS.

5th Grade Grammar- THIS WEEK WE BEGAN WORKING WITH NOUNS...COMMON AND PROPER...
HW - 11/20/09 - P48,49,AND 50 IN THE WORKBOOK.

5th Grade Written Expression - After checking several of the journals, we spent an entire class period rewriting and reviewing (again) how to restate a question and write an introduction sentence.

***Students will have grammar homework at least 4 nights per-week.  We will also be working on journal writing and penmenship skills.

7th Grade Social - We will continue with chapter 3.  This unit has a great deal of info to learn.  Students should read and study nightly.

6/7 Grade ILA - We will continue with verbs...
WITH TENSES...

***There was a test on verbs on Friday, 11/20/09.

***students will have grammar homework at least 4 nights per week. They will aslo be given a weekly journal assignment that must be at least 1 1/2 pages in length in their copy book.

6/7 Grade Vocab -VOCAB 5 IS DUE ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH...AND THE TEST FOR VOCAB 5 IS THURSDAY, 11/19/09.
  

*****Writing assignment for Vocab 5 is 15 aliterations, due 11/18/09.

6/7 Literature - We have begun the "Short Story", with a focus on setting.

8th Grade IlA - This week we will continue with tenses.

8th Grade Vocab - VOCAB 6 IS DUE 12/01/09.   THE TEST FOR VOCAB 6 IS ON 12/03/09.

8th Grade Literature - This week we will begin reading the section from the text on "short story"...with a focus on plot.

***Students will continue working on their 5 paragraph essay for comparative literature.
