It is so hard to believe that we are already in the season of Advent. We will meet every morning in church to celebrate the upcoming birth of Jesus.
Homeroom: Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Bayard House and to the collection for Stockings for Soldiers. The generosity is very much appreciated.
Vocabulary: Unit 6 will be due on Monday, December 8, 2008, with the test on December 11, 2008. Unit 7 will be due on Tuesday, January 6, 2009.
6th Grade: We are finishing up Hatchet. Students have enjoyed this novel and have learned many interesting facts about nature and survival. I am looking forward to their presentations on tornados. In January, we will be beginning our next novel. All students much purchase their own copy of, The Watsons go to Birmingham, 1963, by Christopher Paul Curtis.
7th Grade: We are beginning a grammar unit on pronouns. Students are also working on a fractured fairy tale in groups. We hope to share these with the younger grades.
8th Grade: Students are working on a unit in short stories. Author paper due dates are as follows for the second trimester: January 8, 2009 and February 12, 2009
