ALL STUDENTS are expected to study the vocabulary at least 5 minutes/night, whether or not there is written homework.  Students are also reminded to make sure they bring all necessary items to class (pens, pencils, binders, folders, planners).
Middle school students are also reminded that binder checks are underway.  In an effort to help students learn organizational skills, a grade will be given for "binder check".  All hand-outs, classwork, homework, and warm-ups are to be neatly grouped.  These papers should prove beneficial when studying for mid-terms. Sixth graders should have Chapter 16 assignment and Clock worksheet packets completed and ready to be turned in on Monday 11/9. Middle school students should be reviewing Chapters 13, 15, and 16 as well as the handouts and clock worsheet packets given in class. Middle school students will be writing short sentences about time to complete a booklet.  Sentences MUST be written in class without the use of a translator.  Students will then illustrate the sentences to form the booklet, so that they are completed by the due date. This will be the project assignment for this Unit.
Due to a number of reasons, our "messy" project had to be postponed.  We will still be completing it, and students will be notified when to bring in an oversized t-shirt to use as a uniform cover-up. All materials used in this project are washable. Students will also need some old newspapers for this   project.
Most classes are at the completion of the unit on Time. Areas that may be covered (based on grade level) may include days of the week, months of the year, seasons, time (clock and scheduled). ALL STUDENTS (1 through 8) should be prepared for testing on this unit. Tests will be given sometime between 11/9 and 11/16, based on grade level.
If you have any questions or concerns anytime throughout the school year, please do not hesitate to contact me at dpedicone@gaggle.net or through the school (633-5860).
