Today ends our class time with the 8th grade. Tomorrow will be the communion breakfast and rehearsals. I have had many of this class for two years and we have had many good times. As any group, we have also had some difficult times. I hope we have all learned from some of our differences. I wish all the class my best and hope that their high school career and after are enjoyable and beneficial.
Our emphasis this year has been on composition and writing skills. Our Step Up To Writing Program has been a big help in getting students to organize and put down their thoughts in clear and interesting ways. Students need to put much effort into providing details and examples in their writing.
Just a reminder that the end of Finals does not mean the end of schoolwork. As long as the students are in class, we are expected to continue academic work. Some grades will be added AFTER the final exams are completed, too.
We are coming down the homestretch. I hope all are ready to finish off the year in a good way and be able to enjoy the summer months.
