Report card conferences are on Friday, December 12th.

It was great seeing all the students and parents at our 9:00 A.M. Family Mass on Sunday.

6th Grade Math The 6th grade math class is participating in The Stock Market Game. Companies our students have bought stock in include Bank of America, Walt Disney World, and Nike. This is a hands-on simulation game and competition that teaches critical thinking, research skills, negotiating skills, cooperation and communication, and savings and investing knowledge.  The 6th grade Math Test is on Friday December 7th.

7th Grade Math lessons 30-33 this week.

8th Grade Math this week Lessons 45-49.

6th Grade Social Studies "The Treasures of King Tut's Tomb" picture book project is due on Wednesday, December 3rd. Continue studying and reading chapter 4, Ancient Egypt.  The chapter 4 test is on Tuesday, December 9th.

8th Grade American history.  Student brochures on common medical procedures used during the Civil War are displayed next to my classroom.  If you get the chance, stop by to see them.  They're really interesting. This week we start chapter 18, Reconstruction.  We will cover lessons 1 and 2 for chapter 18.  Read and study a little every night.  A  homework research assignment on the impeachment of President Andrew Johnson will be given this week and is due on Monday, December 8th.

The ST. Matthew Model U.N. Team participated in the Model U.N. Conference and Competition at Salesianum School on November 22nd.  Congratulations to Connor DiMaio and Michael Donahue for winning a First Place Gavel Award and congratulations to Dan DiPilla for winning an Outstanding Effort Award. Connor and Michael represented the country of Sudan and Dan represented Russia.

A SPECIAL THANKS to Fr. Klapps and Deacon Wilber:    On Veteran's Day, Fr. Klapps and Deacon Wilber both spoke to a couple of my classes about their days in the military.  The students and I were amazed by their stories.  Both presentations were incredible!!!
This was an excellent activity for Veteran's Day.

As a reminder, on most days I am available at lunch and recess for students who want extra help in math or social studies.

God bless,
Mr. Limmina
