We are "off and running", literally and figuratively!! Students did a great job with their Physical Best assessments during the first two full weeks of school. The individual activities included the one mile run, push-ups, curl-ups, sit-&-reach, trunk lift, and body fat analysis. Ask you child/children how they did!
In health class we discussed the many benefits of being physically active and making exercise a part of everyday life. Students wrote a letter to a friend encouraging them to be active. They were instructed to motivate their friend by mentioning some of the benefits they learned in class. They made specific recommendations about activities which demonstrated connections made between improved fitness levels and better health. We have begun working on volleyball skills. They are anxious to play games in the next couple weeks.
Please make sure that your child has sneakers and a change of clothes on their PE days. It is critical to their success in this class. Your support is needed and appreciated! ☺
