Welcome back to school! This will be another great year at CCS. This year is our 10th anniversary.
Here at CCS students will learn computer applications, computer maintenance, internet safety, class integration, and many other exciting projects.
The first week of school for all thr geade levels will consist of students collaborating ideas of what they would like or expect to learn in the computer lab. We will also go over class and computer rules.
First Trimester:
1st grade will be researching the life of a pirate in order to prepare for the National Talk Like a Pirate Day in September, where students are allowed to dress like pirates that day.
2nd and 3rd grade will be researching Biomes, and how to read a map. These projects are integrated with the 2/3 team.
4/5's will be researching and collaborating on the many different cultures that make up the United States. They will also be researching information for their Lewis and Clark projects they will be doing in their classes.
6/7's Will be researching information on Ancient Greece and will practice typing roman numerals.
Business Education:
If you are a 7th grader you will be enrolled in a business education class in the computer lab twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2-2:40. This will be considered as part of your computer grade.
If your child wants to keep their work I suggest purchasing a flash/thumb drive. This is a device that plugs into the USB port of your computer and is considered the E or F drive when saving. You can find these devices at Wal-Mart, Target or Staples. They run around $10-15 for a 512MB, $15-20 for a Gig. If you have trouble finding or purchasing a device please feel free to e-mail or call me at CCS.
Please visit the CCS website at www.campuscommunityschool.com
Here at CCS we recycle old cell phone and empty ink cartridges. A drop off box is located at the Bradford street office and the Computer Lab.
Please feel free to volunteer to help in the Computer Lab. Your child's teacher has a specials schedule.
Please read my flash cards for Computer Safety advice!
