Art News at Bradford St.

Welcome back students and parents!

For the first assignment this year all students will be creating artwork for the Original Works fundraiser. They will be creating an image that represents them. We will be receiving the magnets on the week of Oct. 1st. The orders are due on Oct. 23rd and all orders will be received the week of Dec.1st. Just in time for the holiday season! For those of you who do not know about the fundraiser we sell items with your students artwork on it so we can go to many art field trips during the school year. We will be sending home a magnet that costs $6.00. It is just a sample with your student’s artwork. Please send it back if you do not wish to purchase it. Last year we cut the cost in half for all trips our goal is to make it even cheaper this year. Any parent interested in helping with this please contact me to set up a time. It only takes three afternoons. Thank you for your support of the students and the art program at CCS.

This year students will be going to Winterthur, Delaware Art Museum, Delaware History Museum and Brandywine River Museum to name a few!

I am excited too for the coming year. Mrs. Neutzling and I will be taking 6th-8th graders to Japan in the summer of 2009! We will have our first informational meeting on August 27th at 5pm in the Art room at Bradford St. Anyone interested please attend! We will be forming a Japanese club and exchanging letters with the students that will visit us in the spring and we will visit in Japan. The club will start in September and will meet once a week. We will work around sport schedules. We will be doing one fundraiser a month to help all students who would like to go afford the trip.
Please contact Mrs. Neutzling or myself if you have any questions.
