Here is an interesting site I recommend all juniors and seniors visit:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/visits/
It talks about students visits to a lot of schools. It gives their impressions which is helpful. However, if you are truly interested in attending as college nothing compares to an actual visit by you!
Attention Students and Parents:
There are new state requirements for graduation coming soon.
The Committee's recommendations have added specificity and rigor to the four main course areas.
* English/Language Arts: Students will take 4 credits encompassing the skills of reading, literature, writing, presentation and oral communication, reasoning, logic, and technical writing.
* Mathematics: The mathematics requirement will be raised to 4 credits and the curricula will include skills equivalent to at least Algebra II, whether it be through an integrated or discrete math program. Each student will take a math credit in their senior year.
* Science: Students will complete 3 credits, including Chemistry and Biology, or their integrated equivalents.
* Social Studies: Students will take 3 credits encompassing the core social studies standards of history, geography, civics, and economics.
The new requirements will be in effect for the graduating class of 2011 (the class entering in fall 2007).

A Transcript Release Form must be on file in the Guidance Office in order for your college applications to be sent out. Please get these in as soon as possible.
Please remember to write a letter requesting a recommendations from two core teachers as soon as possible. Make sure they receive a copy of your resume also.
Each year college representatives visit our school to recruit students. It is informative for college-bound seniors and juniors to attend at least two of these sessions. Remember that these representatives will only be coming to CCHS ONE time. The more you learn, the better decision you will make for your future. It’s also a great time to impress the admissions rep. for our school!!!!
