      Josten's yearbook Information - last call
February 2: last day for parents to order a yearbook with options (personalization, autograph section, protective covers, etc.)
February 3: parents may only order a yearbook online; they cannot order options or place orders by phone, fax, or mail.
Yearbook price is $25. This year's yearbook will have 30 additional pages, and again it will be in full color.          
        Class Publishing Book
  (Please help us get a FREE edition for our classroom)
    Our Class is Publishing an ABC book of Virginia History!  Each student is helpoing to write and illustrate a full color, 52-page book.  A flyer was sent home about this project.  The cost is $14.95 and $2.95 for shipping for each copy.  
    Please return the slip even if you are not purchasing a book.  We must receive all slips, YES and NO signed in order to receive a FREE edition for our classroom.  Thank you for your support of our writing program.  I have additional slips if you need another copy.

    1/2 day Parent Conferences on Feb. 2nd- if you have not heard from me, I have no concerns and did not need to meet with you.  I am always available to you, so if you would like to meet, please contact me!  Thank you!

    Friendship Party Letter was in Friday Folders (Jan. 30th.) Class list is on the back for Valentines.

     Read a Thon starting Monday
   Our Goal this year is for Bristow Run Students to read a combined total of 1 million minutes.  If they beat last year's total (around 700,000 minutes) Ms. Werle will dress up as the Cat in the Hat and pass out popcorn on March 2nd (Read Across America Day/Dr. Seuss' Birthday).  If the kids meet or surpass the 1 million minute mark, Mr. Buchheit will dress up as Superman to greet the car/bus lines, visit classrooms, and serve lunch (also on Read Across America Day).

Needs for the classroom:  
10 x 10 carpet for classroom (please contact me)
case of small water bottles
binder rings
tootsie roll pops
hanging file folders
notebook paper

          Lunch time is 12:10 - 12:40  
    We love having treats on birthdays!  Treats will be given at lunchtime.  Please remember individual or easy to serve items are best!   Thank you!

       How To Do Homework Without Throwing Up
              Homework Tips from Guidance

1.    Get to your homework before it gets to you.

2.      Make friends with your homework.

3.      Eat healthy snacks before doing homework.

4.      Ask for help!

5.      Take breaks.

6.      NO EXCUSES!

7.      Do the hardest things first.

8.      Don’t rush.

9.      Have a plan or schedule.

10.    Try to do your homework in the same place everyday.
