Dear Parents:
Hi and welcome to your child’s 4th grade class. I am very excited about being your child’s teacher and I’m looking forward to getting to know each and everyone of them. I am including some basic information regarding our procedures in class and your child’s schedule for the year. Please be flexible as some of his procedures may change as I discover what works best for the students and me.

Behavior Plan
Every student starts the day on the color green. If that student does not show traits of a quality student through out the day then they will loose their green and have no color. When this happens the student will reflect in their agenda how they could have been a quality student.
*Gotchas*
Students have the chance to earn Gotcha tickets through good behavior, helping others, good test scores, and more. Every Friday the students have a chance to cash in these tickets to go to the treasure box or save their tickets for the "special treat" or a pizza party.
Homework
Students are required to read each day for 20 minutes each night. Students should also study their spelling words every night to be sure that they are ready for their spelling test on Friday. By signing your child's agenda every night you are letting me know that these tasks have been completed. Occasionally throughout the week they will have other assignments such as math, Virginia history, or science.
Folders & Communication
Panther Folder-Contains homework and important papers for you to see. These will go home everynight.
Agendas-please sign every night
Friday Folder-comes home every Friday containing graded work and important papers from school. Please sign on the date that it's sent home and return to school on Monday.
