Thank you so much to all of our wonderful volunteers. Without you, it would be difficult to do the normal work of the library, and impossible to have the successful Book Fairs that we have every year. God bless you for the time that you give us. All of the children appreciate your patience and care, and your own children are proud that you take the time to be with their classes.
We are planning to rearrange a portion of the library during the month of February, to make the collection more accessible to students and teachers. The library will be closed on February 19, 20, and 21 to accomodate the move. Volunteers who would come in on those days are still needed to help!

Third and Fourth Grade: Students will see a PBS video on an orphaned polar bear in Canada, as part of our discussion this month on global warming.
Fifth Grade: Students will participate in a reading of a book that explains where our garbage goes.

Faithfirst.com: has faith-based activities and games.
Kittenwar and Puppywar: Kids vote for the cutest kittens and puppies.
Scholastic.com: there are many educational games based on books and book characters.
Noodletools: for older students. This is a great research site.

Books about Polar Bears
**************************************************If you are looking for good books to buy or to take out of the public library, go online to your county public library website. Look for their link to "kids" or "teens". They will provide you with old and new titles, usually with story summaries. You can also check the excellent lists on the New York Public Library site, as well as the Wake County, North Carolina Public Library site. For boys, check out "Guys Read" (Google it). It is a site created by an author to point boys to books they would enjoy.
