6th Grade Health

Changing Bodies Program - Scheduled on May 15th, 2008

The students will be learning about the early stages of puberty.   During this program, the boys and girls will be taught separately.  In order to provide this education, we have ordered "The Always Changing - About You Program" for boys and girls.  This program addresses the following:
-  physical and emotional changes during puberty (as part of the normal growth and development).
-  the correct terminology for the reproductive system.
-  the importance of personal hygiene.

As part of this program, your student will be coming home with a small hygiene packet and brochure.  Please take this opportunity to review the information and further discuss this topic with your child.  If you wish to preview the video that your child was shown, follow these steps:
- Access the website by typing www.pgschoolprograms.com/puberty
- Go to the bottom of the screen and select "View Video"
- Choose the appropriate boys or girls program.

If you wish to explain the opposite sex to your child, you may select the opposite program and further the discussion at home.  Only the program of your child's sex will be shown and discussed at school.

Please feel free to e-mail me directly for health-related questions/comments at scaracciolo@sainttimothyschool.org.
