The Genre for the March Reading Log is Non-Fiction Informational text. During the month students will read biographies, appropriate reference materials, articles, web-sites and atlases. Students will use these materials in order to:
Identify and analyze the organization of text
(chronological order of events)
Identify and explain the contributions of text features to meaning
Periodically paraphrase important ideas or information
Week 3 March 16-20, 2009
Given a map and worksheet of Canada, students will complete the map and supply the requested information on our northern neighbor, Canada. They may use world atlases, internet sites or other materials in order to complete this assignment. Students do not have to do number 8 on the worksheet.
Vocabulary Workshop
The test for Unit 15 will be given on Monday, March 16th. Students were given the Unit 14 test on Thursday as a Throwback Test to increase knowledge of definition of words and spelling.

The week of March 23rd students will be given the Math Test on Tuesday and Wednesday. Make sure students get plenty of rest the night before the test and eat a good breakfast the day of the test.
