The Henry G. Ferguson Elementary PTA, Inc. (HGF PTA, Inc.) invites you to join with us in making a difference in the education, health and welfare of our children. Our objectives for this year were: Increased communication, Advocacy, and Increased Parental Involvement. Some of the programs and activities we sponsored this year are:

End of Year Celebration for students & staff (6/18/09)
Our children's education is best supported when parents, teachers, administrators and the community work together to share thoughts, ideas and projects that benefit children. We are encouraging everyone who wishes to support our students to join the local PTA. Please invite friends, family members, neighbors and others in our community to support HGF PTA and help us give "every child, one voice".
You may join by completing the your membership form. Return it in an envelope marked PTA Membership to your child's teacher or the main office. Our Membership Fee is $10 per person. THE MISSION OF THE PTA
*To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
*To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children;
*To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.
THE PURPOSES OF THE PTA
To promote the welfare of the children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
To raise the standards of home life.
To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.
HGF PTA 2008-09 OBJECTIVES
INCREASED COMMUNICATION - offering increased communication with teachers, students and parents regarding PTA activities, programs and, events.
ADVOCACY - Developing our voice in the issues effecting ours students and school on county, state & national levels.
INCREASED PARENTAL PARTNERSHIPS - Strengthening and creating partnerships among the HGF community, teacher, school, community organizations, businesses and, parents) to better support our student's educational experience.
