                        Physical Education

The 3rd annual TURKEY TROT will take place at Calverton on Friday, November 20th. Grade 4 will start at 8:00 a.m.--Grade 3 will begin at 8:50 a.m.--Grade 5 at 9:30 a.m.  Students will run/jog/walk 1 mile around the field. Parents are welcome to join the run as well. Hope to see you on Nov. 20--don't forget to wear your tennis shoes.

The next unit for grades 3-6 will be a softball unit where they will learn to strike a ball (wiffle or supersoft) with an implement, fielding using softball gloves and rules of the game. Students in grades pre-k-2 continue to work on their striking skills using age appropriate manipulatives.

To maintain safe and active participation for your child during PE class, students should wear TENNIS SHOES with laces or velcro.  Students may change from boots etc., into their tennis shoes during PE class. Please avoid sandals and slide on tennis shoes with no backs, tennis shoe skates and tennis shoes with no laces.

Students should dress appropriately for Physical Education.  This includes wearing belts when necessary.  Girls should wear shorts or long pants underneath skirts or dresses.

Rules/policies have been discussed with all P.E. classes and are reviewed during class. These rules/policies are posted. A copy of the rules/policies will be distributed upon parent request.

If your child has asthma or a health related issue  that you feel important please let me know asap. Thank you.

Please call Mrs. Albert (301-572-0640) if you have any questions or concerns.
