I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to my class! I am excited about the upcoming school year and hope that you and your child are as well. This year we will be working on making appropriate choices, developing good work habits and learning lots along the way!
In order for your child and all the other students in our classroom to experience a wonderful school year certain rules must be in place. The entire Kindergarten team will be implementing two very important rules 1. DO NO T HURT BODIES and 2. DO NOT HURT FEELINGS. In addition, there will be other rules discussed in our classroom that will help the children take responsibility for their own behavior.
Regular lunch is $2.00 per day, breakfast is $1.25. If you filled out a free/reduced lunch form please remember that it takes approximately 3-4 weeks for the forms to be processed. Until you are notified of the status of your forms you will need to have lunch money on your child’s account. In addition, each child has his/her own personal lunch account so feel free to pay weekly or monthly. Please practice his/her pin number every night until memorized.
I believe that homework is important in order to reinforce skills that we are learning in class. Homework will generally go home on Mondays and is due back completed on Fridays. Occasionally, there will be homework for your child to complete overnight (i.e. I will send home homework on Tuesday that should be returned on Wednesday).
Below you will find my email address along with the phone number to Calverton Elementary school. If you have important information to tell me, please call the main office and they will pass on the information. However, feel free to email me with any GENERAL questions, concerns or comments.
Once again, I am looking forward to a fantastic school year and am so glad that your child is in my class. My hope is that your child leaves my classroom with well defined social skills as well as strong academic skills!
