                    OCTOBER:

     * Camp Schmidt permission slips were sent home this weekend.  Please sign and send it back to school as soon as possible.
                 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     * A few children have not paid for their Social Studies Newspaper.  We will use these all year and there will be assignments given from them. The cost for the year is $4.50. I've sent one home with all students, so that you can see an example. Those who have paid, have received 3 so far.  Please review these with your child.  They follow our curriculum and have a great deal of information in them.
                 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     * I have,in the past,used this site to put the homework on. During the past month I have been asked several times why it was not posted.  Without it, parents don't know the homework.
       The homework is posted on a large flip chart on the front board.  Assignments for the day are posted before the children come in. It is your child's responsibility to copy it into their assignment book. Many missing assignments are being blamed on the fact that it was not posted on this site.  For this reason, I have decided to post notices only, until the children realize that they need to copy their assignments. If this continues to be a problem, let me know and I will check your child's book each day to see that all assignments are written. Once the pattern is set, mid-year, I'll again post the assignments on this site.

                    November:

   * All conference slips have been sent home.  Thank you to all who replied. Please bring your child to the conference if at all possible.  A three way conference is always a productive one.
               ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   *  Please continue to check the agenda book each night.  This along with the reading and math logs are due at the beginning of each week.  A grade is given in both subjects each week.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

                  January:

     * SCIENCE FAIR - All information has been given to your child.  They have had it for about 2 weeks. They have been given a blue Science Fair Journal with all the dates, how to work through the Scientific Method, set up of the backboard, and suggestions for topics.  I also have about 2000 projects, with step-by-step directions.  Any child in need of a topic, just has to mark the page and I will make a copy for them.
        The Science Fair will be held on Feb. 28th.
Please keep up with your child on this project.  Those done during the last few days are usually not done well or in depth.
        Boards will be sold as soon as they come in.  Price will be $3.00.  They can also be bought at Office Deposit, Staples or other local stores.
       There will be 2 Science Fair Nights at school.These will be on Thursday, Feb. 7th and Monday, Feb. 11th. Both will be 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. You may attend one or both nights.  You will be able to type and print parts of your project.  Also there will be help assembling your board.
        A flyer has been sent home.  Please fill it out and return it to school.

     *  I will begin to put the homework on this site. As stated before, it is your child's responsibility to write it in the agenda book.  If a night is missed, here on the site, it does not mean there is no homework. They will have SOME homework each night.
