Welcome parents and students! The Testing Office is located in room 119 near the cafeteria hallway, between the main lobby and the science hallway. My extension is 315. Laurel High School is committed to providing you with the best and most up-to-date information about Maryland High School Assessments that we can. Any student entering ninth grade in the 2005-2006 school year or later must pass four assessments in order to graduate: Algebra I, English 2, Biology, and Government. In an effort to assist your child with achieving that goal, Laurel High School has instituted a daily mandatory study hall during Spartan Hour that provides tutoring for students needing to pass the HSAs. If your child failed or missed an HSA last year, he or she will be expected to attend tutoring for that assessment for 30 minute sessions on a regular basis so that we can help him or her develop skills that will ensure success when the tests are given in January 2008. The schedule will be as follows:
Mondays: Algebra I
Tuesdays: Biology
Please support your child as he or she faces the challenges of high school assessments!
Passing Scores:
Algebra I: 402
English 2: 396
Biology: 400
Government: 394
