8/23: Finish discussion re "Party on Dudes" & America's Ignorant Voters." Begin Ch 1 Powerpoint Lecture.
8/24: Summer Assignment Test
8/27: Finish Powerpooint Lecture on Ch 1.
8/28: Small Group Discussion Assignment on Ch 1:Legitimacy; How democratic is the US?; Reconciling rights with democratic theory and the tyranny of the majority.
8/30: Discussion of DeTocqueville. Attacking an FRQ.
8/31: Test on Chapter 1. Multiple Choice is Open Note, FRQ is closed note.
Ch 3 SGs are available. We start Ch 2 Powerpoint Lecture on Tuesday.
PARENTS PLEASE NOTE: Students are given a study guide for each chapter. On the study guide is a reading schedule that the students need to follow. Study guides need to be completed and turned in the day of the test on that chapter. I'm going to try to make Study Guides available ahead of time so that students can get ahead of the class on the reading. For example, we're just starting Ch 2, but the Ch 3 SG is now available. The Ch 2 SG was available when I handed out The Ch 1 SG. Watch these notes for announcements as to when the Study Guides are available so that you can monitor your student's work in AP Gov't.
9/4: Lecture/Discussion/Primary Source Analysis re sources of rights embodied in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights
