Muftau uses text The American Republic CHAPTER 15
Kevin uses text The American Journey CHAPTER 24

Please have Muftau/Kevin complete the the following assignments due upon your return to class. Chapter 15/24 in the text The American Republic "The Jazz Age 1920-1929" or "The American Journey
1. There are 3 sections in Chapter 15/24 read each one and answer the section assessment questions at the end of each section. #1-8

2. Have student examine a poem or a piece of art from the period covered in this section. Use the internet resources to learn more about the style or characteristics of the works of the author.

3. Using music as a theme have the student listen to recordings of jazz and blues performances by pop musicians of the '20's such as Duke Ellington, Bessie Smith. Next prepare a profile of the chosen performer.

4. Finally in Chapter 15/24 we culminated the activities with a 100 point Power Point Presentation worth 100 pts. The PPT covers the entire Jazz Age. 50 pts = Twenty slides minimum. 20 pts = Historical Accuracy, 20 pts = creativity/imagination, 10 pts orally presented well.  If there any questions contact me at brian.moore@pgcps.org
