Hello parents and students! I have and will be listing assignments and projects we will cover throughout the 2008-2009 school year. I expect for us to have a 3 "P" school year: Peaceful, Positive & Productive! Parents, it is important for you to check your child's bookbag and Social Studies journal everyday in addition to checking this website weekly to stay updated on what's going on in my class. Assignments/Activities:
ATTENTION!!! 7th grade & 8th grade social studies students in Mr. Goodrich's class: Effective as of 1-9-09, all students will be required to complete a current event article summary (students should already have the format to complete this) every weekend for the remainder of the school year. It will be graded as a homework assignment. I believe it is crucial to bolster our students' aptitude on current events that are occuring around the world. Thank you.
Reminder: Cell phones, cameras and any other electronic devices out during my class will be taken and turned into our school's administration.
7th grade: For the next couple of weeks, we will explore the continent of Europe. Students will learn about the ancient Greek and Roman empires. Students should be preparing themselves for the upcoming Final Exam in June. We will do a comprehensive review next week in preparation for this assessment.
8th grade: For the next couple of weeks, we will study lessons on Westward Expansion and Manifest Destiny. Students should be preparing themselves for the upcoming Final Exam in June. We will do a comprehensive review next week in preparation for this assessment.
