Hello parents and students! I have and will be listing assignments and projects we will cover throughout the 2008-2009 school year. I expect for us to have a 3 "P" school year: Peaceful, Positive & Productive! Parents, it is important for you to check your child's bookbag and Social Studies journal everyday in addition to checking this website weekly to stay updated on what's going on in my class. Assignments/Activities:
7th grade: We will be starting our unit on the Three Major Religions (Christianity, Judaism & Islam) next week. Student's first project for the 2nd quarter, will come from this unit. They will be asked to do a research paper on one of the three major religions. A worksheet with specific instructions will be sent home next week that will require a parent's signature(s). The project will be due December 17, 2008.
8th grade: We will finish our lesson on the Original Thirteen colonies then go into our unit on the American Revolution. Student's first project for the 2nd quarter will come from our lesson on the Original Thirteen Colonies. They will be asked to select one of the original thirteen colonies then complete a research paper on it. A worksheet with specific instructions will be sent home next week that will require a parent's signature(s). The project will be due December 18, 2008.
