ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Welcome, Class of 2012!
Be ready to start with discussion of your summer reading selections. Be patient and be open to new ways of thinking as you transition to high school. Ninth Grade will help you improve your skills as a critical reader and writer.
We will be learning valuable essay and research skills in the fall. Plan on reading the following works this semester our class:
1. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
2. Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
3. To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
English 9B Honors allows time for creative writing, acting, and public speaking. Our class will read:
1. Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
2. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
3. Poems by contemporary poets
4. A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry
