They may bring a water bottle in to fill in the morning if they would like. They do need to remember however, that if they drink water all day they cannot use the restroom in the middle of instruction constantly. We have breaks in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Thank you all for being so patient with this page!!!
I should be okay now to update this every week- more if I have to for special events.

Homework----
Some homework will change from week to week but, spelling will be the same every week.
Spelling- Every Monday the students are given a spelling list and a sheet to complete.
The three things that are turned in every week are:
1. sentences- which are to be completed in their spelling journals. They should complete 10 sentences and they should include 2 spelling words each and they should be 10 words long.
2. sheet- The sheet is given to them with their list and it asks them to use skills such as: parts of speech and unscrambling( there are lots of different skills as well)
3. 3x's each-- We have beem focusing on our cursive handwriting this semester so this extra practice will help us in our efforts.
-------------------------------------------------------
Math-Every night for math we will have homework except for Friday. It might be in the book or sometimes it could be a handout.
---Something new that just started in the past week or so--- instead of just regular math facts for 10 minutes they can get on www.emgames.com and login and complete games for math facts-- if they do that they still need to get the log signed.------------
For the Week of 6/2 Here is the projected math and spelling Homework-
M- Science--Activity 3 in booklet.
T- Science--Activities 7 and 8 in booklet.
W- Science--Activity 9 in booklet.
Th- Science--Activity 10 in booklet.
F- HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!
---------------------------------------
Here are the spelling words this week- I highly recommend doing some pretests with your children- oral or written whichever works best for you and your student.
---------------------------------------------------This week is special because we are focusing on words we have already learned and may need some reminders on from previous units.
Unit 27
1.
21.Bonus Word????? (I keep this word a secret until the day of the test)
Lastly, I just wanted to remind all of the parents of a few things. I still have some students that are coming in with their agendas unsigned in the morning-As a fifth grade team we have all of the students get them signed every night so you know what is being expected of your child.
We don't want any surprises when homework slips come home and the student says they didn't have homework or they forgot to bring their agenda or other books home. We are trying to teach responsibility any way we can.
I hope all of this information helps! Thank you!! -Ms.Arnold
