--- In Math:In math we have just begun our division unit. Students should be practicing their multiplication and division facts this unit as much as possible!!! Remind your students they should be bringing home the SRB to aid their studying throughout the week.
---In Science: We have begun our Astronomy and Weather Unit. We will be learning about different weather instruments,constellations and how the Earth's rotation and revolution affects the seasons.
--In writing: We will be completing our first piece of writing in our Touchtone Unit. We will write like readers.
---In Reading: We are in Lesson 7 and we are reading When the Circus Came to Town.
--Also, please remember to bring in your math logs and reading logs!!!!

Homework----
Some homework will change from week to week but, spelling will be the same every week.
Spelling- Every Monday the students are given a spelling list and a sheet to complete.
Here is the outline of the spelling homework for the week. The assignments will be the same every week unless they need to focus on a different skill or pattern that night.
Monday-
1)Students will sort the words for the week based on the pattern or rule that they are learning.
2)Students will state the pattern or rule in their journal.
Tuesday- Students will list 10 new words in their journal that fit the pattern/rule from our spelling list.
Wednesday- Students will use 10 words in fifth grade sentences and underline all words that fit the pattern/rule. They may use 5 words from the list and then create 5 new words.
Thursday- Students will be given 5 words in their journal and they will have identify and explain which of the words follow the spelling pattern.

Math-Every night for math we will have homework except for Friday. It might be in the book or sometimes it could be a handout.
