   PATRIOT PROGRAM INFORMATION

We have begun the Patriot Program in 4th grade!! A letter was sent home on Weds. Jan 23 with some information.  The students are NOT required to participate, but it is highly encouraged by all of the 4th grade teachers.  The forms at the bottom of this paper need to be turned in by February 1st if your child wishes to participate.  On February 1st, they will recieve a list of 7 activities from which they may choose 4 to complete. (Further information, including end date for completion will follow)

Reading Book Projects

The reading classes have been introduced to book projects corresponding to the SSR book they are reading. The students will be required to complete one book project a month.  The project will be handed in on the last school day of each month. (see monthly due dates below)  These projects will be considered reading homework. The students will not be given time during school to worked on them.  We will be using an assessment rubric to evaluate the student’s understanding of the story.
