Here's your opportunity to assist CMS in fulfilling their educational needs through the Giant A+ Bonus Bucks program, while saving money. Clarksville Middle has maintained a very high participation in recent years, earning Howard County’s highest rewards from this program!
Each time you shop using your BonusCard, Clarksville Middle will earn A+ Bonus Bucks, which converts to CASH each month. If you do not have a BonusCard, you can obtain one at Giant or by logging onto www.giantfood.com/bonuscard.
Please remember that everyone must re-designate each year!
To designate online, log onto www.giantfood.com/aplus. You can choose up to three schools. CMS Code: 00966
Thank you for supporting CMS! We look forward to another exciting and rewarding year of A+ Bonus Bucks!
Friday, September 12, from 6-8 pm at the CMS Black top (cafeteria in case of inclement weather).
Rock on to the sounds of Washington Talent. Play basketball with your friends. Pack a picnic or purchase pizza, soda or ice cream. Bring a blanket or chair. Hope to see you there!
Food on the 15th, a community service project that delivers groceries free of charge to economically, challenged seniors in Howard County and teaches children about philanthropy, will expand this year to include 6th and 7th grade students at CMS and operate jointly with Pointers Run Elementary School (PRES.)
Around the 15th of each month, Pointers Run Elementary and Clarksville Middle school students will be collecting healthy, nutritious, non-perishable foods. Students, faculty and staff will be asked to bring in whatever brand new food items they can. Please do not send in expired food, glass containers or containers that are dented or bulging. Students and their parents will sort, bag and deliver the bags of groceries directly to the seniors’ homes around the third week of each month.

The CMS PTA Staff Appreciation Committee is sponsoring a Staff Adoption Program again this year. Families can “adopt” a staff member by providing a few tokens of appreciation throughout the year (4-8 notes or treats, including one during Staff Appreciation Week in May.) It’s a great, practical way to contribute toward the morale and positive outlook of the CMS school community.
If you are interested in adopting a staff member, please return the form (included in your PTA packet) to school by Friday, September 15th in a sealed envelope labeled Staff Appreciation. All adopting families will receive information about their adoptive staff member (e.g., name, birthday, hobbies, favorites) by mid-October. Families can indicate three choices as to whom they would like to adopt. Every effort will be made to grant one of the choices; however, another staff member will be assigned if all requested staff have already been adopted.
If you have any questions, please contact Paula Skapura at 410-988-9080 / pjskapura@hotmail.com or Barb Opatick at 410-531-3560 / boptaick@verizon.net
