3/30/09  The marking period has passed quickly. Students have been working hard to identify prepositions and prepositional phrases.  They are useful in so many ways.  For example, if you are asked to identify a subject and a verb on a test(!), if you can identify any prepositional phrases first, it is much easier to find the subject and verb:  they will NEVER be inside the prepositional phrase.  But more fun is using these phrases in writing to add detail and interest, and we've been playing with these phrases in many ways to connect them to our own writing.

NOW COMES THE ASSESSMENT!
