Attention parents!  This year I have noticed that only a few number of folks are using our class webpage on scholastic.  I have been given the ability to create a class website that is easier to access in the hopes that more folks would use this instead.  I have just started putting it together but I hope that you will take a moment to take a look.  Our website address is:  www.charitonuksclass.webs.com/
Check it out!

Spring is here!  This also means that we only have one more quarter left until this group will move on to 5th grade.  This year has truly flown by!
Our calendar of events is filled with plenty of awesome activities for our class.  Monday, April 20th is our field trip to the Arundel Quarry in Havre de Grace.  Only 3 chaperones will be asked to come due space constraints.  Keep in mind that this trip could be cancelled on the morning of the event due to unforeseen circumstances at the quarry or weather.  A permission slip is coming home today.  Please indicate whether you would like to be considered as a chaperone.  The chaperones will be chosen this Friday in class.
Our class is currently working on a class play entitled, “Red Writing Hood.”  We are using lunch times and morning times to create our background scenery and props.  Everyone will have some part in this event whether it is creating a program, illustrating the background, or having a speaking part in our play.  Be sure to keep your eyes open for our invitation towards the end of this month.
An outstanding job was done by our students in our “Walk of Fame.”  It was wonderful to see the number of parents and family members stopping by to visit our classroom.  All of our “stars” truly loved the chance to shine!
Our class will be compiling a poetry book which will be put into a class book.  I am currently typing up 2 poems that each child has chosen.  Once these are completed, we will scan them for the printing company.  Families will be able to purchase a hard back book showcasing our class work.  More information will be sent home regarding this after our Spring break.
Students worked extremely hard during our MSA testing!  I am anxious to see how they did.

Colonial Day
Many thanks go out to the numerous volunteers who made our annual Colonial Day such a wonderful success.  Students rotated from 8 stations learning about various aspects of colonial life.  I hope that your child shared some of the exciting facts about the stations they visited throughout the day.

Miss. Lidie’s Return
Miss Lidie has returned!  She is now teaching 50% of our classroom day.  After spring break she will be teaching 75% of our day for 2 weeks.  Miss. Lidie will then have 1 week where she will be teaching for 100% of the class day.
