Oct. 1 to March 31--The Pizza Hut Book It Program! A delicious way to motivate our young readers! Check out www.bookitprogram.com for more ideas and resources!
Oct. 2--Jumpstart's "Read for the Record" Campaign, www.readfortherecord.org , using Corduroy.
Oct. 7--Author/illustrator Susan Stockdale visits grades K-5 (3 assemblies). The books ordered will be delivered to students on Oct. 7 or 8 signed by the author!
Nov. 1--National Family Literacy Day, see www.famlit.org for more info.
Nov. 15--Annual "I Love to Write Day", see www.ilovetowriteday.org for ideas & resources.
Get your pens & pencils, paper & key boards ready... let the writing commence!! It is that time again - Time for the annual Harford County Reading Council’s YOUNG AUTHOR'S Writing Contest! Students in Pre-K through 12th grade can enter, and again this year we will feature poetry as well as stories/narrative pieces of writing. All writing is due by Dec. 19th! Check with your teacher for details!
