Happy Spring to everyone! May is a busy month with lots of assessments going on! We congratulate our students for their efforts in preparing to "show what they know" on those tests!
YBES has been participating in the CoolKids Reading Challenge from April 20-May 15 to support local pediatric oncology patients and families. Students have been competing with staff to see who can read the most minutes in 4 weeks! We had Olympic Ice Skater Kimmie Meissner with us on April 16 at an assembly to kick off our Campaign! Please turn in all Reading Logs and donations by Tues. May 19. Thanks to all who supported this charity fundraiser!
Have you been thinking about summer school and other summer educational opportunities... HCPS is offering Summer School July 6-July 31 at Forest Hill Elementary for our area. Summer School forms are available from me, or check with your child's teacher. HCPL has a wonderful reading program every year, be sure to check it out! The HCPS Library Services Office also recommends Letter PALS Summerfest starting on June 22. Check out www.letterpals.org for more information.
