We are rapidly approaching the end of another school year here in the Media Center and a momentous one for me.
After thirty-five years as an educator in Harford County, twenty-one of them at YBES, and forty-two years overall in the field of education, I have made the decision to retire as of July 1st. This has been a very difficult thing to do, because I view Youth's Benefit as my extended family, but also necessary for a variety of reasons, among them my husband's health. The school community has been good to me and I will be sorry to leave. I have enjoyed working with your children and hopefully passing on to them my joy of reading and of books.
I have appreciated the help of parent volunteers over the years who have given countless hours of time to keep our library neat and organized. Also, I am grateful for the help of Mrs. Mary Lou Silagyi, media technician, whose help has been invaluable in the day-to-day operation of the Media Center.
Taking my place with be Mrs. Jenny Ebmeier. I know that you will extend to her the same level of help and encouragement which you have given me over the years.
