Ocean News- September 11th
What are we doing in class?
Kindergarten is a blast! We are having a wonderful time learning together and making new friends. Monday was our 10th day of school. “Zero the Hero” visited our class! He comes to visit our classroom every 10th day of school because he loves numbers that end in zero. We counted forwards to ten and backwards to zero! This week in ILA we defined a story, discussed where people get their story ideas, retold stories, showed how print is read, and listened/responded to a book. In math we identified and created sets 6-10, sorted objects and identified sorting rules, created a birthday graph, explored capacity (using water, sand ,rice ,etc.), and enjoyed math games. In TUB we continued to review “Gator 5 Rules”, walking in line, courteous ways to respond a group, nice/not nice ways to treat others and how to follow a procedure chart to complete a task. We are all working hard to earn green days in the cafeteria and to make “Star Choices” throughout the day to stay on green!
