ART NEWS
Thank you for checking in with the Art Department. I am looking forward to working with your children again this year.
Due to the fact that I work with only Kindergarten, first, and second graders, my job entails a lot of prep work. If you are able to help, please stop in or drop me a line.

KINDERGARDEN
Our Kindergardeners are getting off to a good start. We are learning the rules and procedures of the art room. We are learning to recognize and write color words. I am trying to get to know the students and assess their skills. They will be making self portraits, and will be learning different ways to use crayons. We will be looking at some portraits made by grown up artists.

Grade One
First graders are focusing on the beautifully detailed work of Albrecht Durer, a German artist. As we look at his work, we will begin to learn how to use simple shapes to draw complex things. We will be drawing wild animals and putting them in a circus train.

GRADE TWO
Second Graders are focusing on Egyptian Art. As soonas some of out supples come in, we will be making beautiful Egyptian inspired birds.

ART NEEDS
Everyone needs a smock please! The sooner the better! An old tee shirt is best.

We could use old buttons, yarn, and ribbon.

We could also use Kleenexes and handwipes.

We could also always use help! Always. Thanks again,
Mrs. Boor
