Welcome to Mr. Ladika's schoolnotes page. Tests, quizzes, and major project dates will always be posted. Please check student agenda's for nightly homework

Reminder: The HSA for government is scheduled for May 19th, please make sure your student is studying and reviewing!!!!! A calender with review sessions has been sent home with students, so please look at it with them!

2nd Semester:

Grade sheets are being sent home and emailed home on 4/28 and 4/29. Be sure to sign and return them please!

Students are working on Supreme Court case booklets, which are due on 4/22 and 4/23.

Judicial Branch exam scheduled for 4/24 and 4/27


HSA letters to students who did poorly on the most recent benchmark were mailed home on 4/14/09.

W.O.W. #1 - due on 4/16 and 4/17. WOW quiz is on 4/16 and 4/17 as well.

U.S. gov. benchmark set of 3/26 and 3/27 - study!!!!

Students need to complete U.S. map for 2/24 and 2/25

Many students are missing course outlines and maps from the first day of second semester. Students are reminded that I am available during first lunch on B days for WCH tutoring!

Foreign Policy test is scheduled for 2/18 and 2/19. Students will be getting review sheets at the end of the week in order to prepare!

Students need to complete "Foreign Policy Scenario's" for 2/9 and 2/10.

Course outlines have been sent home, please make sure they are signed and returned by 2/6/09!





1st Semester News:


All students have recieved final review sheets. Students are being given assignments related to the review sheet on a nightly basis. In addition, there are/will be short daily quizzes on review material.

No homework over winter break!

Grade Sheets for 2B were sent out on 12/17. They are to be returned on 12/19.

All government classes will have a quiz before break. B day government quiz is on 12/19, and A day quiz is on 12/22.

Students in 3A recieved grade sheets on 12/15/08.

Students in all government classes are working on a Congressional Committee Children's book. What they do not finish in class/wildcat hour is due on 12/15 and 12/16

Homework for 12/5 and 12/8 - Complete districting map.

Students are begining the Legislative branch on 12/1/08.

Students have been talking about influences on the President and the Presidential Elections. Homework for 11/13 and 11/14 to complete a presidential candidate poster.

Final first quarter grade sheets are being sent home on 11/3 and 11/5, they all need to be signed and returned!

Students in all government classes are completing a short "Presidential Project" in which they are comparing how the candidates stand on important issues. For the period 3A, students are also predicting the presidential winner.

Benchmark for 1A, 4A, and 2B is Oct. 27th/28th. Students recieved grade sheets on 10-21 and will also get them on 10-22. Make sure students are studying and working on review sheets!!!!

Benchmark - scheduled for 10/24 - students need to be preparing for this test, as it covers material covered all year!!!!

Students in period 3A (standard) were given a Constitutional Scavenger hunt project. The project is due on Oct. 27th.

Students have been going over the ratifying of the Constitution, have compared the Federalist to the Anti-Federalists, and have recently or will be recently learning about the Bill of Rights!

Periods 1a, 4a, and 2b - brief test on 10/10 or 10/13

Period 3A - quiz on 10/10

During the week of 9/28-10/3 students will be working on the principles of democracy as well as the structure of the Constitution.

Students are working on influences of the U.S. constitution. Recent activities have included/will include a guided reading on the influences, as well as a timeline on events that led up to the Declaration of Independence

Parents: Progress reports will be going home on Monday the 22nd and Tuesday the 23rd, please make sure you see these reports and that you sign them and they are returned to me. I apologize for the lateness of the reports, but I wanted the first test grade to be included!

9/12/08 Students have recieved review packets for test, which will be on 9/18 and 9/19. The front page of the review packet is due Tuesday!

9/8/08 - Finish drawings related to federal, confederate, and unitary forms of government.

9/3/08 - Finish Purposes of Gov. BCR, Complete Locke Reading/Graphic Organizer
