U.S. HISTORY PRESENTATIONS
ASSIGNMENT: Present main ideas of the section you are assigned via a large poster or a power point. You will be presenting to the class and should include a poster or a power point that highlights the main ideas of your report, notes for the class to take, a class work activity, homework activity, and a quiz (5-10 questions).  Mrs. Moore will meet with you each class period to evaluate your progress.

REQUIREMENTS:
1.    Create a poster or power point.
2.    Prepare notes for your classmates to take on your presentation.  They can be fill in the blanks, key words, or other ideas. ( Must be cleared by teacher.)
3.    Prepare a class work  “activity” that focuses on the main ideas of your presentation that will be used by the class when they listen to your presentations.  Ideas include: matching exercise, crossword puzzle of at least 10 terms, word scramble with clues, word search, or other ideas are okay if cleared by teacher.
4.    Prepare homework “activity” that focuses on the notes they took during your presentation.  Ideas include: comprehension questions, matching exercise, crossword puzzle of at least 10 terms, and other ideas are okay if cleared by teacher.
5.    Create a quiz to be taken the next day based upon the main ideas of your presentation.
6.    Be sure to summarize the information using your own words. (MIDDLE SCHOOL LEVEL AUDIENCE)
7.    Practice giving your report orally before presenting it in class. You should be able to talk about the topic and not read the report. (note cards are fine if you don’t read them)
8.    We will be working on this in school.

GRADE- Your grade will be based on the following:
1.    Accuracy of information
2.    attractiveness of poster or power point
3.    quality of oral presentation:
a.    Speak loudly
b.    Talk about your report instead of reading
c.    Understand the topic so that you can answer general questions
4.    Quality of “activities” for the class
a.    notes
b.    quiz
c.    class work
d.    homework
