READING
Over the next few weeks your child will be enjoying stories related to our second reading theme, Nature Walk: Henry and Mudge and the Starry Night, Exploring Parks with Ranger Dockett, Around the Pond: Whose Been Here?, Chibi, Amelia Bedelia Goes Camping, and Animal Tracks Everywhere. The comprehension skills the class will be concentrating on are: compare/contrast, fact/opinion, catagorize/classify, fiction/nonfiction, real/fantasy, sequencing, main/idea details,and drawing conclusions. Our language focus will be on: kinds of sentences and punctuation. We will also be learning about how to write a description.
MATH
The next few weeks we will be concentrating on the following areas in math: identifying and counting money up to $10.00 and time to the 5 minute intervals. Please practice with your child at home as often as possible.
Please continuealso to practice basic addition and subtraction facts.
