READING
Over the next few weeks your child will be enjoying stories related to our sixth reading theme, Talent Show: The Art Lesson, Moses Goes to a Concert, School Mural, The Chocolate Touch. The comprehension skills the class will be concentrating on are: author's viewpoint, noting details, and problem solving. Our language focus will be on: adjectives. We will also be learning about how to write a "how to" sequencing.
A special spring weekly project will be Wacky Word Wednesdays. Students are to bring in an unfamiliar word with it's definition on a small piece of paper to share with the class(and to placed in our word jar). This word can be found in a number of places: the grocery store, doctor's office, books, billboards, and TV. On Fridays, as a bonus, the students can write 2 sentences on the vocabulary paper with two of our Wacky words from the word jar.
