Thanks to all students who are doing a wonderful job remembering their tennis shoes for class. I appreciate your responsibility.
Presently there are two SU interns woking in the PE department. They are Mr. Leng and Mr. Alonzo. These gentlemen have been with us since late January and will complete their internship in mid-March. They will go to their secondary placement to complete their requirement before graduation from SU in May. We wish them the best of luck in their professional career and appreciate all of their hard work here at Westside.
Classes are presently completing a theme on striking with paddles. Next we will move onto nutrition, muscles of the body, and rhythms
Our Jump Rope for Heart, held in February, was again a success. Westside students raised over $14,000 for the American Heart Association. We appreciate all of the students who volunteered their time to collect donations. We also want to thank the parents who came to watch the event and those who donated door prizes. We are fortunate, in that every student who turned in a donation envelope was able to win some sort of door prize!!!
Westside Intermediate will be holding their Field Day on Friday, May 23. Letters will be going home in early May with information about this fun day and request for volunteers to help.
