On Friday, May 16, students will take their Africa Unit Test. All students will receive a study guide in class on Wednesday. Students should review the concepts on the study guide, as well as their political and physical features on the map of Africa. There are still students in each class who need to turn in their Africa Research Project paper as well. Thank you so much for your support and cooperation at home.

Students started their Africa Research Project in class today. Students will be in the media center tomorrow and Monday to finish their research. All students will receive guidelines for the Research Project Paper, which is due Tuesday, May 13. Working on the paper a little each night will help your child have it ready by the day it is due. All students received a study guide in class today for the Europe Unit Test on THURSDAY, APRIL 17. Students divided the study guide to prepare for the test a little bit each night. Please help your child review so we can meet our class goals. Thanks!

Students have analyzed ways Europe was divided, and are now focusing on cooperation in Europe. On Thursday, April 10, students will take a quiz on World War I, World War II, and the Holocaust. Students will also need to know the countries in Europe that use the euro. Students will then be ready for a Unit Test sometime next week. Thank you for your help at home.

Students are finishing their study of the Western Hemisphere. All students received a study guide in class today. The Unit Test is on MONDAY, MARCH 17. Please encourage your student to study a little each night to prepare for the test.

Just a reminder that the Quebec Response Paper is due TOMORROW. It should be four paragraphs typed or neatly hand-written according to the guidelines. Students have started to study Mexico, analyzing immigration at the US-Mexico border.

Students in Blocks 1 and 5 received the Quebec Response Paper Assignment in class today. Due to an assembly, Block 3 will be given the assignment tomorrow. The response paper is a four paragraph essay written according to the guidelines given to all students on a pink sheet of paper. The response paper is due WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5. Please encourage students to work on the assignment at home a little bit each night to have the paper completed by Wednesday. Students will also be given a Canada map quiz on Friday (as voted on by Block 1) or Monday (voted on by Blocks 3 and 5).

Thank you for so many positive parent responses to the "homework" assignment. In class, we are studying map skills. Students were assigned a map project in class today. All students have a copy of the guidelines in their notebook. This assignment is due MONDAY, FEB. 11. We are looking to have a Unit Test on Friday. A study guide will be provided for all students. A good way to help students study is to review the Class Notes section of student notebooks.
