Students are finishing their study of the Western Hemisphere. The Unit Test will be on Tuesday, NOVEMBER 3. All students will be given a green study guide sheet today to complete. Each night, students will need to complete the assigned sections for homework. All the answers can be found in the students' notebooks. The material on the study guide is what needs to be reviewed to prepare for the test. Thank you for your support at home!

On Thursday, Oct. 8 students will complete a map quiz on Canada. Students must be able to label the provinces, territories, and major bodies of water in Canada on a map. Students are also working on their Quebec Response Papers. The final paper must be finished at home, and may be typed or neatly handwritten. Students have (or will have tomorrow) the guidelines and a graphic organizer for the assignment. The final copy of the paper is due Tuesday, Oct. 13.

All students will be taking a quiz on the United States and Canada tomorrow. Students recorded the topics in their planner to study. Thank you for your support at home.

Just a reminder that the Unit One Test is TOMORROW! Students should complete the last three sections of their study guide for homework tonight. The Map Project is due on THURSDAY, SEPT. 17.

Students in Blocks 3 and 4 were assigned the Bermuda Triangle activity for homework if they did not finish in class. All students should try to complete the conclusion paragraph, which we will discuss in class on Tuesday before it is collected. A reminder that the quiz is TUESDAY, September 8. Thank you so much for such a positive response to the parent assignment, "In a Million Words or Less." I have really enjoyed learning more about each student. Students had a notebook check today to help them stay organized in class. Students will have a quiz on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4. The quiz covers vocabulary terms and how to find the exact location of any place on earth.

Welcome to 7th grade social studies!! All students were given a Course Syllabus and Expectations Sheet in class today. There is a place for a parent's signature on the Expectations sheet. Students also received a parent letter called, "In a Million Words or Less," giving parents an opportunity to tell me more about your chid. I am looking forward to getting to know your son or daughter more in social studies.
