Remember that they is no school on Monday, Friday or next Monday.
Also be sure to have homework completed as Wednesday will be the last day to take it. Enjoy the time off!
1/14/10
Busy day--sorry it is so late! We have no homework today because we are working on the Construction Packet. Ten exercises where we use the compass to make angles, rays, bisectors, ect. We will complete it in class tomorrow. Work has been going really well, BUT IF YOU HAVE A COMPASS / PROTRACTOR AT HOME--BRING IT! THE ONES WE HAVE IN CLASS ARE NOT VERY GOOD FROM OVER-USE.
1/13/10
Today we reviewed the unit 3 assessment and gave out the pre-assessment to those students who can redo for a better grade. We will review the pre-assessment during lunch tomorrow--bring your questions if you have them. The pre-assessment should be re-done in another color pencil or pen. Circle the ones you still don't understand and ask your questions!
Re-do's are tomorrow or Friday. A note or an email is a must in order to stay!
We also started the transformation packet and it should be completed for homework; it will be checked tomorrow.
COMPASS AND PROTRACTOR ARE NECESSARY FOR TOMORROW!! BUY THEM, BORROW THEM OR BRING $2.50 TO BUY IN CLASS.
1/12/10
We worked in class on a diagonal packet; you will need to finish it for homework. Also students need to get their compass and protractor as we will be working on a construction packet and NEED IT!
Unit assessments will be given back and reviewed tomorrow. If your homework completion is 75% or greater you may redo the assessment. IN ORDER TO REDO THE ASSESSMENT YOU MUST COMPLETE THE PRE-ASSESSMENT FOR A REVIEW (we must have a note or email from parent in order to stay after). YOU CAN STAY AFTER TO REDO THE UNIT 3 ASSESSMENT ON 1/14 OR 1/15.

Today we took the quiz that we were suppose to do on Friday. We reviewed right before the quiz; hopefully it helped some of the students who are showing us that homework and studying are not part of their vocabulary. Afterwards they went over the examples from section 8-6 in the book. HOMEWORK IS TO COMPLETE THE WORKSHEET 8-6 #1-10. REVIEW THE EXAMPLES IF YOU ARE UNSURE. Also add the two new vocabulary words to your vocabulary section---Congruent and Similar figures (p. 392-393).
1/7/10
I went and borrowed some of the compasses and protractors from the school store. We will sell them in class tomorrow. The two together costs $2.50 and individually cost: compass $2.00 and protractor $.50. THis may help some of you just in case it snows early.
1/7/10
Today we reviewed the past two homework assignments, practiced drawing triangles, classifying, and labeling them. We also drew specific angles with specific side and angle measurements. It is suggested that you practice doing several more as we will have a quiz tomorrow.
Things on the quiz are the following:
*vocabulary of a regular polygon, intersecting lines, and perpendicular lines as well as those vocab. on p. 362. (See your notes from today or check your book in sections 8-1 and 8-2)
*use your polygon worksheet so that you can classify a triangle by its sides and angles.
*how to measure and classify angles
*find values of a missing angle in a figure
*draw a triangle with specific angle and side measurements
1/6/10
Forgot to add to make sure you bring your protractor and compass from your original material plans. Also make sure your textbook is your best friend and comes to class with you daily!!!!! Lunch detentions for those who are unprepared.
1/6/10
You need to finish the shapes and designs polygon worksheet that we were working on in class. You are to draw each figure and give a definition of the shape using the side and angles.
For the real homework you need to complete the angles and polygon worksheet --both sides.
If you did not complete your vocabulary--get it done tonight and show us your homework and the 4 vocab words, so that we can keep our new years resolution!!!!!!!
1/5/10
I cleared the page so hope the problem will disappear. Hope you got the previous email. Can someone send it back so that I can repost it.

9/29/09
A very busy day. We reviewed our quiz 1--check out those grades, as some were just awesome. We then reviewed the Math Box 1 and started looking at bar graphs and line graphs. Block 1 and 4 were given Math Box 2 and block 3 will get two of them tomorrow. These are graded and they will have a test on all the material that is on them--they are review of previously learned skills.
Interims went home today. Remember it is important to complete homework if you need to redo unit assessments in the future.
