                                              What's New

Attention Confirmation Candidates....
Please remember to turn in your Confirmation Retreat Consent form and your Proficiency Survey if you have not yet done so. These items are now past due. To those who turned in these forms already, THANK YOU!

Please remember, too, that your Sponsor Letter is due December 1, 2011.

Confirmation classes begin the week of January 22nd. Every Candidate has now been placed in a class. Please call Ruthie immediately at 410 392 3551 if you did NOT receive a letter with your class time. Thank you.

Please, no cell phones:

If a student needs to use a telephone while he/she is at the parish, one is available in the parish office.

If a parent needs to reach a student during class time in the case of an emergency, please call the parish office at 410 398-1100 or my cell phone at 443 350 4627. You may call either of these numbers if you need to get a message to a student (for example, if a ride will be late.)

There is no need for a student to have a cell phone during class. Please make sure students are leaving personal cell phones at home or in the car when they come to religion class.

Our students are in class once a week for two hours or less. Our catechists and assistants who are volunteering their time are due the attention and respect of every student.

Thank you for your cooperation and assistance in creating a better learning environment by removing the distraction that accompanies constant access to cell phones. Please be diligent about honoring this request for the remainder of the program year.

Parents of 7-8th grade RE students:

Have you looked at your 7th or 8th grader's religion book? Please take the time to do this, and remember to ask your children each week to share with you what they are learning in class.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Parents of high school RE students:
Have you seen the bible your teen received this year? Please have your son/daughter share this with you. It is an excellent resource for today's teens. Please be sure this bible accompanies your student to EVERY class. Thank you.
All Parents:
Is your child sharing with his/her class that your family does not attend Mass? Are you attending but not taking your children?
As parents, you are your child's primary educator. No one has a bigger influence on your child's faith formation that you do. Our parish RE program is offered to supplement what you are teaching your children at home. Do you pray before meals? At bedtime? Do you attend Mass together each week as a family? Do you show your children how important it is to you to receive the Eucharist and celebrate the sacraments? Do you keep the 10 commandments? Keep holy the Sabbath?  Donate to our Parish Outreach?  Volunteer your time and talent in service to others?
Your children learn, most of all, by your example. By your words, your actions, your choices & your priorities, what are you teaching?
We welcome your feedback. If there is something you'd like to see, a form you can download, etc. on this site and you can't find it, please let me know.
