We will also do an acrostic and a concrete poem soon.

Your TABLE OF CONTENTS should list each poem by title and form/style and give the author(s).  If your poem was pair-written, list both names on the table of contents and on the poem itself.

The glossary is a definitions list.  It include the poem structures and the meaning of the terms you have learned.  Glossary words are listed in alphabetical order.

Review the information packet I handed out today.  Become familiar with the tasks you will have to do.  You will NOT all have to do vocabulary each week.  I have combined the vocabulary  with the illustrator to make one task.  
The jobs are:  Discussion Director, Literary Luminary, Illustrator/Vocabulary, Summarizer, and Connector/Researcher.  
You will each do only ONE of those jobs per week.  Your job will change each week until you have done each task once by the end of the five weeks.

The 6th grade spelling bee will be held on Monday, January 28th during English class.

          corrections,  write the final copy of
          the “losing” story, work on vocabulary, and
          read in the literature book.

Spanish - Prepare for writing and oral tests.

          Writing:  Using complete sentences, write
          a note to your Spanish teacher with the  
          following information:

          Your complete name
          Where you are from
          Your telephone number
          Which days we have Spanish class

          Oral: ¿Cómo te llamas?
          ¿De dónde eres?
          ¿Cúal es tu teléfono?
          ¿Qué día es hoy?

          If you did not hand in your last quizzes,
          Make sure you have corrected your quizzes
          and have your parent signatures on them!

Match; spell correctly
Ex. 3 = Choosing the word
Read carefully; use synonyms to help you choose.
Ex. 4 = Words in Context
Read the passage; select the best meanings.
Ex. 5 = Complete the sentence.
Read the sentences; find and underline the word clues and then fill in the blanks.
Sentences—Write any 5 words in complete sentences with  context clues.  Restatement clues, definitions, synonyms,  and antonyms are usually best.
