Grade 6:
Review of decimals: adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, estimating and rounding
Exploration of fractions with an emphasis on adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
Use of logic in math including working with word problems
Grade 7:
Review of properties of integers and basic algebraic expressions
Introduce basic equations and inequalities (including graphing on a number line)
Learn how to graph points, lines, and equations on the coordinate plane and discuss basic terms and concepts that will be used in algebra
Begin discussion of the properties of real numbers
Grade 8:
Review of terms and basic principles of pre-algebra, with a focus on moving from words and expressions to equations.
Review of properties of real numbers: use of number lines, basic mathematical operations, and a brief review of fractions
Explore basic principles of solving equations with a heavy emphasis on word problems, in particular, real world examples of algebraic applications.
Briefly introduce polynomials.
